G5 Entertainment AB has developed a new game that takes all the best elements of Sandbox mode and puts them in a standalone game. Starting with a blank canvas, you'll build the city of your dreams. A city planner is available to help you plan your city's layout, providing advice and early hand-holding. But once you're ready to take your city to the next level, it's time to get building! There are plenty of optional quests to complete, including increasing the population, making money, and building certain buildings. Hit them, and you'll be rewarded greatly.

The gameplay in Virtual City Playground is very different from the original. In this game, you must build the city from the ground up, and each level has its own distinct characteristics. The missions in Virtual Cities are more straightforward, and revolve around constructing buildings and routing trucks to reach these structures. However, the game offers an excellent tutorial and offers plenty of variety. You'll also have the ability to play in a sandbox mode, which will help you build and manage your city.

While the game plays similar to its original version, the economy in Virtual City Playground differs from that of the real-world version. In addition, the economy in the Playground is more complex. In the original game, buildings cost a small fortune. A bakery will set you back $13,500. And it's not just buildings that cost money, but the people who work in them. The economy is key, and you'll need to balance five major parameters to be successful.
